One of the fundamental techniques of fusing is creating thick slabs. Putting an intentional design into that thick slab is called creating a pattern bar. Predicting how those designs will come out, knowing which equipment to use (and how best to use them) to manipulate your slab, and using pieces of that slab to as inspiration for whole new projects is the focus of this class!
You will learn multiple pattern bar techniques and complete two bars of your own. You will also design, construct, and perfectly finish a plate or platter using one of your pattern bar designs.
Skills learned in this class will support you for the rest of your fusing journey! They are some of the most used techniques (tools for your fusing tool belt) that every fuser needs to know! AND some of the most fun!!
