“Chopper” Joins our Coldworking Team

Meet “Chopper” our DarteGlass Pneumatic Murrini Chopper

Found in our classroom, this pneumatic murrini chopper features a versatile pedal that can be easily operated by hand or foot. It’s designed to reduce sore hands, tired shoulders, and flying murrini, making it simple to cut consistent pieces quickly and effortlessly, regardless of thickness or shape. This makes it perfect for thicker or irregularly shaped murrini.

“Chopper” is available for use in our classroom; ask studio staff to get you set up and start chopping. Regular Coldworking rates apply.

Coldworking
Aqueduct Drainage System

Our new drainage system is completely self-contained and sustainable, eco-friendly, and sends 0 contaminants to Waller Creek or Austin Wastewater.

How? The drain off from the coldworking machines flows into the aqueducts lining the back wall of the coldworking room. As the water makes its way along the wall, debris is collected in the subsequent chambers, sending less sediment toward the drain. Once the water exits the building, it collects in a self-contained tank, where the remaining sediment settles to the bottom and the water evaporates. This is just one more way we’re working to make glass art more eco-friendly and sustainable.

Mold Wall Library

Be our guest and peruse one of the largest glass mold libraries in Texas!

We have huge bowl molds to tiny ring dishes and everything in between. The best part is that with the addition of the new mold library rolling ladder, it’s even easier to reach all of our great molds.

Bonus Open Studio Tables

You’ll find these tables in the back half of the building by the Mold wall and the kilns. The best part, these tables will be available even during Studio and Master Instructor classes. As always, these tables are first-come, first-serve.
