• How Kilns Work: It is the most important tool a kilnformed glass artist will ever use - but amazingly most glass fusers don't really know how the kiln works. Understanding your kiln will make you more effective when using it - and will help you troubleshoot when things go wrong.
• Kiln Preparation and Maintenance: A well cared for kiln will can last decades. A kiln that is abused and mistreated will start to deteriorate in as little as a year. Do you know the difference For example, do you know how to tell how hot the electronics are when running the kiln? Do you know how hot is too hot? And do you know how to cool them down and extend the life and reliability of your kiln controller?
• Firing Schedules 101: We've taken this section right from our Fused Glass for Absolute Beginners class - and extended it. You'll learn how to put together a well-designed firing schedule and you'll learn to recognize a bad one (and there are a lot of bad ones out there).
