Pattern Bars: Any way you slice it!
Learn new twists on an ancient technique.
Arrange the glass. Fuse it into a "bar". Cut the bar into tiles and marvel at the results!
Few basic techniques equal pattern bars when it comes to limitless and exciting possibilities.
Students will learn to build three different types of pattern bars:
- Organic "flow" bars
- Geometric (traditional) pattern bars
- Stack bars
The class will be guided through each step from building and damming the pattern bars, sandblasting, using the tile saw, cutting strips to cold working the final piece.
This project centered class will encompass the process of building a small tray using pattern bars as the main component.

Students will take home their final 4"x12" x 3/8" tray and their remaining pattern bar components.
