Advanced Kiln Carving Techniques
We start with basic "fiber embossing" and then take kiln carving in directions you've never gone before.
This class is packed with new advanced techniques for creating beautiful designs in the surface of the glass both with and without added colors.
Students will make several small projects with the opportunity to incorporate all of the following:
- Basic fiber paper kiln carving
- Gradient relief using feathering and paste techniques
- Thin glass inlays
- Bubble placement
- Kiln carving with powder
- Color dilutions
We will cover firing schedules considerations that are relevant to these techniques.
All materials and studio fees are included in the price of the class.
