Bubble Sorcery

We've been working for a long time on techniques for creating bubbles with absolute control - and now we are ready to share our secrets!

Uncontrolled bubbles can wreak havoc on a fused glass project. But when they appear where you want them, they can be pure magic.

In this class, we will share our secrets for placing bubbles in fused glass with incredible precision.

This class is ideal for:

  • Beginner through advanced glass fusers who want to use bubbles as design elements in their work.
  • Jewelry fusers who want to bring add mystery and depth to their glass pendants and more.
  • Anyone who wants to expand their fused glass toolbox with some exceptional techniques that you'll only learn at Helios.

What we will cover:

Here are many (but not all) of the things you'll learn in "Bubble Sorcery":

  • Multiple techniques for adding bubbles to all kinds of fused glass work
  • How to create predictable "fields" of small bubbles
  • Precision control of bubble placement and size
  • How to create colored bubbles!
  • How to create shaped (square, round, diamond, and more) bubbles!
  • A full understanding of how trapped air behaves in glass at different temperatures

Using a combination of demonstration and plenty of hands-on time, you'll have a chance to master the use of bubbles as design elements in your fused glass work! Students will gain experience with all the above techniques while making a number of sample pieces for reference or inclusion in future projects.

Like many Helios fused glass classes, Bubble Sorcery covers several original techniques not taught at any other studio.
